Our 8 month Pilates Certification Program is the only program in Los Angeles that has over 150 hours of hands on student lecture/workshop hours specially designed to teach the art and science of Pilates properly and thoroughly. Our students especially appreciate the holistic and supportive environment that Whole Body Gallery provides during the term of the program. If you are seriously interested in learning the art of Pilates and are able to commit the time and energy to truly learn this craft, then our program is for you.
All applicants are required to schedule an interview before admittance.

This extensive 5 level course consists of:
Educational Workshops: Students meet 2 weekends per month per level over a period of 6 months. Successful completion of the course requires the completion of all five levels and over 400 hours of student apprentichip.

You will study the entire Pilates system using:

Arm Weights
Magic Circle
Mat Work
Reformer
Cadillac
Barrels
Wunda Chair

Also included are comprehensive classes in:

anatomy
posture assessment
injury prevention
teaching skills

Student Apprenticeships: This unique opportunity allows students to get paid to teach clients, thereby starting their career as a Pilates instructor and gaining invaluable hands-on experience. In all, students will be paid a total of $1500 for teaching clients during the program.
Students are also required to observe experienced teachers, practice with other students, participate in Pilates classes, teach Pilates mat classes and complete self workouts.

Appretichip Hours: Teaching Clients 150 hrs, Practicing Pilates 150 hrs, Observation 40hrs, Teaching Classes 40hrs, Mentoring 40hrs

Assignments : Students are required to complete 5 anatomy and Pilates related assignments. One for each level.

Comprehensive Testing:
Students choose between 2 final exam dates and may only participate when all apprentice and workshop hours have been completed and all previous tests have been passed and assignments handed in.

Course Director: The course has been led the past 8 years by Nigel Sampson. Nigel is certified in Classical Pilates, Gyrotonics, Kundalini Yoga, Certified by the American College of Sports Medicine, Amercian Council of Exercise, National Academy of Sports Medicine, Certificate in Personal training UC Irvice. Nigel has been teaching exercise for over 20 years and is skilled in creating expert Classical Pilates Instructors.

Course Pre-requisites:At least 3 private Pilates sessions and 5 Pilates mat classes are required before beginning the program.
